Work on this 31 year old bridge consists of a complete overhaul on the mechanical/electrical equipment and selective concrete structural repairs. Complete new gear reducers, motors, brakes, shafts and supports will be installed for the operation of the 85'' movable span. New electrical service and hardware will be complemented with the new equipment. Paint will be applied to all structural steel and roadway grating. Structural repairs on the superstructure consists of new concrete barrier walls, new expansion joints, sewer and plumbing system, HVAC, windows, doors and roofs. Substructure repairs consist of new bulkhead caps, bearing pads, spall repairs, concrete sealers and fender repairs.This project was delayed due to equipment design changes.
